Sinkers are essential when you are fishing in some deep water or if you are going against a current. They range in all sorts of weights and you should have a few of everything in your tackle box. Fishing Tip
I am going to explain a little on how to "set the hook" properly. If you are feeling just a nibble on the line then it is not quite time to set the hook yet, setting the hook to early will just yank the bait and hook out of the fishes mouth and probably scare the fish away. Let the fish nibble on the bait, but when you feel a strong tug, this is where you set the hook, you do this by yanking back with the fishing pole, if the hook is properly set then there is a good chance that the fish is not going to get off. If you wait to long to set the hook then the fish has a more probable chance of swallowing the hook, once a fish swallows a hook he's less likely to get off, but the chances are slim for survival if you release him back into the water. One easy method to getting around setting the hook is to use some Circle Fishing Hooks. This makes setting the hook automatic as soon as the fish takes the bait, it's what a lot of fisherman use and I highly recommend using circle fishing hooks.
